Studio Policies
This page provides a quick summary of the studio policies. For the entire document, please see the “Full PDF” button. We recommend new students and/or parents read through the full policy when beginning lessons.
Tuition
The tuition cost for the studio is $90/ month. This fee includes 3-5 weekly lessons and membership in the Lyricwood Cadets for those who meet the criteria. Other benefits are outlined in the full policy.
Tuition is paid once a month, usually on the first lesson of each month.
Scheduling & Attendance
The studio schedule is reset twice a year, changing in May and at the end of August. Lesson times will be scheduled then, or when a student joins the studio. Rescheduling will only be accommodated as the teacher’s schedule allows. Make up lessons will only be scheduled in cases of unavoidable conflicts. Last minute cancellations or no shows will not be made up.
Participation Policy
Students at Sound of Treble are required to participate in any orchestra available for their age and level. Group playing is an indispensable skill, and one that must be gained via experience and training. Please note that this requirement is enforced for those fourth grade and higher. While occasional exceptions might be made for one concert or semester, longer term exceptions will not be allowed. For more on why we require this, please see the blog post linked below.
Performance Opportunities
While students are encouraged to perform outside studio events, there are requirements to be met for each performance. The teacher must be informed at least three weeks in advance, and may provide input on choosing music appropriate in level and content. For full guidelines, please see the policies document under the matching heading.
In-Studio Communication
Communication within the studio is primarily via text, email, and the private Facebook group. Upon joining the studio you will be asked to provide an email address and a phone number. The Facebook group name or link will also be provided, and is a good resource for staying connected and informed on current happenings within the studio. Contact information is not shared without your permission.
